Imago Dei

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

-Genesis 1:27

With everything currently going on in this country, I feel the need to address this issue. Not only does it pertain to everyone currently walking the face of the earth, but also to the lives of the unborn. Simply put, ALL lives matter. We have all been created by God and bear his image; in the imago Dei

As a Christian I will always stand by this and shout it out to the world! I will shout this to defend the lives of the unborn, I will shout this to defend the lives that are currently in harm’s way due to the violence that has been occurring, I will shout this to defend any injustice that another human being suffers. We are all image-bearers of God and all of our lives are precious to Him.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

-Psalm 139: 13-16

God is aware of everything and has ordained everything to be–everything that has happened in the past, everything that is currently taking place, and everything that has yet to occur. There is not a thing that is hidden from Him. He ordained the creation of the world, and the human race. He ordained that Adam and Eve would sin and that our world would be cursed with sin. He ordained that the price for sin is death. But He loves each and every one of us so much that He gave us an escape plan. Through the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ, we that believe will not perish, but have eternal life.

With that said, the rioting, looting, and violence plaguing the United States right now is not a new problem. It is also not as cut and dry as being a race issue. We are all the human race created by God and in the image of God. We are adopted heirs into His family and are one under Christ. The problem is a sin problem. The problem is a turning away from God problem.

All throughout the book of Judges, the same story repeats itself. And all throughout the history of man, the same story repeats itself. We believe in God and give Him all our praises. Then the next generation comes along and forgets about God until they find themselves in a heap of trouble. They turn back to God and He always delivers them because He is graceful and merciful and they remember Him and praise Him again. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. It is not a lie when the term history repeats itself is said, even in the Christian worldview.

So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he said,”Because this people have transgressed my covenant that I commanded their fathers and have not obeyed my voice, I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations that Joshua left when he died, in order to test Israel by them, whether they will take care to walk in the way of the Lord as their fathers did, or not. So the Lord left those nations, not driving them out quickly, and he did not give them into the hand of Joshua.”

-Judges 2: 20-23

Without God, we will be left to our own demise. Without God, we will continue to do horrendous things to each other. Without God, there is not a single good person. Without God, we have no hope. As the human race, we need to turn back to God!

We are not in a racial war, we are in a spiritual war; a truth and righteousness of God vs. Satan and lies. There is good news to be shared; hope for all in Jesus Christ, the light of the world. So join me in putting on the full armor of God (Eph.6:10-18) so that we may be properly equipped for this spiritual battle at hand. Our only hope is in Him.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

-John 10:10

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

-John 8:12
