Yet Another False Teacher…
Yet another false teacher has emerged, writing to USA Today stating, “we muster the courage to face the truth: We got it wrong on gays and lesbians. This shouldn’t alarm or surprise us. We have learned some things that the ancients — including Moses and Paul — simply did not know. Not even Jesus, who was fully human and therefore limited to what first century humans knew, could know about cancer, schizophrenia, atomic energy and a million other things the centuries have taught us.”
We are warned in the scriptures of times like this occurring, so keep steadfast in your faith, and prepare for the suffering and opposition that will come forth. I do not post this to spread hate, but out of love. We can show the love of Christ without condoning the sin that the Lord abhors. And let us not forget, it is not homosexuality only that the Lord despises, but it is the lying, stealing, murdering, and even your not loving God with every ounce and moment of your life. We are all guilty, but just because we are all guilty, we do not say the Bible is wrong. We are wrong—dead in our sin, and we must acknowledge that. There are few things that are good about us, and all those things come from the Lord. Our natural sinful nature has no good, so let us hold to the good that is taught in the Bible and the love of the Lord.
Jude 3–7 (ESV) “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day— just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.”
